Rosemary Bleakman's garden in Chagford is full of magical subjects for paintings. I had been looking to paint another lily pool after being overwhelmed by the intense beauty of the pools in the Giardino Botanical Gardens in Lucca in 1999 (see Italy series above), but no ordinary lily pool would do!
